Virus & malware removal in South Bend

Pop-ups everywhere, a browser that goes where it wants, a “Microsoft” warning telling you to call a number — or someone already called you claiming your computer is infected? Bring it in. We clean out the real infections, remove the fake warnings, and make sure nobody has a way back in.

One honest heads-up before anything else: a pop-up or phone call telling you to call a number or pay to “fix” your computer is almost always a scam. Don’t call them, don’t give them remote access — bring the computer to us and we’ll sort out what’s real.

What we clean up

  • Viruses, malware, and spyware
  • Pop-ups and fake “your computer is infected” warnings
  • Browsers that redirect or got hijacked
  • Scam-call aftermath — we check what they touched
  • Ransomware and locked screens
  • Slowdowns caused by junk and infections

After the cleanup we’ll set you up so it doesn’t happen again — and if someone already had remote access to your computer, tell us so we can check for anything left behind.

Common questions

Common virus removal questions

A warning popped up saying my computer is infected and to call Microsoft — is that real?

No — that's the scam itself. Microsoft, Apple, and your bank never put a phone number in a pop-up, and they never cold-call you about a virus. Don't call the number, don't pay anything, and don't let anyone remote into your computer. Just close it down and bring it to us. We'll clean off whatever put that warning there and tell you honestly whether anything real was wrong.

I already let the scammers remote into my computer — what do I do now?

First, don't be embarrassed — these operations are professional and they catch smart people every day. Unplug the computer from the internet and bring it in, and tell us what happened so we know where to look. We'll check what they touched, remove anything they left behind, and help you figure out which passwords to change. If money or banking was involved, call your bank right away too — that part can't wait for the computer.

Can you remove the virus without wiping my computer and losing my files?

Usually, yes. Most infections can be cleaned out with your files, photos, and programs left in place. Once in a while an infection is deep enough that the honest fix is a clean Windows install — and if that's the case, we copy your important files off first whenever the drive is healthy enough to read, and you'll hear about it before we do anything. Nobody wipes your computer as a shortcut here.

How do I keep this from happening again?

That's part of the job. When you pick up, we'll have real protection in place and we'll show you what the common traps look like — fake pop-ups, scam calls, sketchy downloads. If you want us to keep an eye on things year-round, ask about our Computer Care Plan: it keeps your antivirus current and gives you someone local to call the moment something looks off, for a few dollars a month.

My computer is just slow — is it a virus or something else?

It's honestly a coin flip — sometimes it's malware, sometimes it's a failing hard drive, a pile of junk programs, or just an old spinning drive that an SSD would cure. That's exactly what the $60 diagnostic answers: we find the real cause and quote you the real fix, instead of selling you a virus cleanup you might not need.

Whatever broke, we’ve probably seen it. Let’s take a look.

We don’t price repairs over the phone. We look first, so the number’s real. The $60 to look comes right off your repair, and walk-ins are always welcome. Look for the blue door with the stairs on the left side of the parking lot, and knock if it’s locked, we’re here.
