Laptop repair for students in South Bend.
A laptop that dies during the semester is not a small problem. We are a locally owned repair shop on Arnold St, a short drive from Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s College, Holy Cross College, IU South Bend, Bethel University and Ivy Tech. You get a flat $60 diagnostic that comes off the repair, a plain answer about what is wrong, and a real price before anything is done. No car? We pick up from campus. Parents paying from home? We text them the estimate and a link.
Or just walk in, Mon - Thu 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM · Friday By appointment. 746 S Arnold St Suite 3, South Bend.

One price you hear before any work
$60 to find out what is wrong, credited to the repair. The repair itself is quoted after the look and you approve it first. Nothing is added on afterward.
Pickup from campus
From $39 plus the diagnostic, priced by distance, and the exact price shows before you book. We collect it, fix it at the shop, and bring it back.
Borrow gear while yours is here
A laptop charger, keyboard, mouse or monitor on loan for the length of the repair, for a small flat fee quoted at the counter.
Parents can approve and pay by text
We send the estimate and a payment link by text, so whoever is paying can read exactly what is wrong and say yes from anywhere.
What students actually bring in
- A charger port that only works if you hold the cable just right
- A cracked or black screen
- A laptop that will not boot the night before something is due
- A laptop that takes ten minutes to open a browser
- A drink spilled on the keyboard
- Files on a laptop that will not turn on
- MacBooks and Windows laptops, both
Spilled something? Unplug it, turn it off, and bring it in sooner rather than later. The odds drop the longer a wet laptop sits.
The honest timeline
What it costs, and how long it takes.
These are the same numbers on our pricing page and at the counter. The one thing we do not guess at is the repair itself, because the part depends on your exact model.
Diagnostic
A hands-on look and a plain answer about what is actually wrong. Your answer within 5 business days, usually sooner. Go ahead with the repair and the $60 comes right off it.
Priority diagnostic
Same look, ahead of every standard job, so a busy week cannot push you back. Pick it when you book or at the counter when the deadline is real.
The repair
Screens, ports, batteries, drives, keyboards: the part depends on your exact model, so we quote it after the look and you approve it before any work starts. 30-day warranty on parts and labor.
If the fix needs a part we keep on the shelf, like an SSD or memory, it can often happen the same day you approve it. A screen or charge port for your exact model may have to be ordered, and we tell you how long before you decide. If the honest answer is that it is not worth fixing, you hear that for the same $60, and we help you figure out what comes next, including tested, warrantied refurbished laptops if you need something working this week.

Student laptop questions
How fast can you fix it? I have a deadline.
Tell us the deadline when you book or at the counter. The standard diagnostic gets you an answer within 5 business days, usually sooner; the priority diagnostic is $109 instead of $60 and puts your laptop ahead of every standard job. Once you approve the repair, timing depends on the part: SSDs and memory are usually on the shelf, and a screen or port for your exact model may have to be ordered. Either way you hear the real timeline before you decide, and you can borrow a charger, keyboard, mouse or monitor while yours is on the bench.
Do you fix MacBooks?
Yes. MacBook Air and MacBook Pro come in as often as Windows laptops: screens, batteries, keyboards, charging problems, liquid spills and machines that will not turn on. It starts with the same $60 diagnostic, credited to the repair, and the price is quoted for your exact model before any work starts.
Will I lose my files?
Most repairs, like a screen, a port or a battery, never touch your files. If the drive itself is the problem, or the laptop is dead and the files are the real worry, say so up front and we treat saving them as the first job. Data recovery starts with the same $60 look, then you get the honest odds before going further. That work is best-effort, so the warranty covers repairs, not recovery. If you still can, back up your work before you bring it in.
Can my parents pay from out of town?
Yes. Once we have looked at the laptop, we can send the estimate and a payment link by text, so a parent anywhere can read exactly what is wrong, approve the repair, and pay without being here. You pick it up when it is done.
What do I do without my laptop while it is here?
Borrow what you are missing. While a machine is on the bench we lend a laptop charger, keyboard, mouse or monitor for the length of the repair, for a small flat fee quoted at the counter. If it does not come back, the replacement price on your ticket applies. If the problem is only the charger or the screen and your work is on the drive, ask and we will tell you what is realistic for getting at your files in the meantime.
