What to expect

Here's how it goes.

Bring the printer in — and if it's a "won't connect" problem, bring the computer or laptop too, so we can test both ends and find where it's actually breaking down: the printer, the connection, or something on your computer. We charge a flat $60 to track down the real cause, and that comes right off your bill if you go ahead with the fix; most printer jobs are sorted in a day or two. We'll also tell you honestly when a cheap printer would cost less to replace than to repair.

Common questions

Common printer repair questions

My printer worked fine and now it suddenly won't connect — what happened?

Connection problems like that usually trace back to something simple: a new router or changed Wi-Fi password, a Windows or printer update that reset things, a fresh ink/driver hiccup, or the printer quietly dropping off the network. It's almost always fixable without buying anything new. Bring the printer in, and if it's a "my computer can't see it" problem, bring that laptop or computer too so we can test both ends instead of guessing at half the setup.

Is it even worth fixing, or should I just buy a new printer?

We'll tell you straight. With cheap inkjet printers, a part or a service can sometimes cost as much as a brand-new unit, and we're not going to charge you for a repair that doesn't make sense — we'll just say so. But if it's a good laser printer or an all-in-one you paid real money for, fixing it is usually the smarter move. The $60 look is how we figure out which one yours is.

How does the $60 work for a printer?

It's a flat $60 for us to find out exactly what's wrong, and it comes right off your total if you go ahead with the repair. We won't quote a repair price over the phone, because a guess before we've actually seen the printer wouldn't be honest. Once we know what it needs, you get a real number and decide with no pressure — and if you choose not to repair it, you still leave with a straight answer instead of a guess.

It says there's ink but it only prints blank pages — what's going on?

That's a common one, and it can be a few things: dried-out or clogged print heads, a cartridge that isn't seated right, or ink that's genuinely empty even though the meter still says full. We'll find out which it is and tell you whether a cleaning takes care of it or it's a deeper problem. We won't promise a result before we've looked — but blank pages are very often fixable.

Can you set up a brand-new printer and get it on our Wi-Fi?

Yes — setup is a big part of what we do. We'll get it on your Wi-Fi and printing from your computer, laptop, and phone, so it just works for the whole house or office. Bring the printer in, and if you can, bring the devices you want to print from or at least know your Wi-Fi password. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 5:30.

Whatever broke, we’ve probably seen it. Let’s take a look.

We don’t price repairs over the phone — we look first, so the number’s real. The $60 to look comes right off your repair, and walk-ins are always welcome. Look for the blue door with the stairs on the left side of the parking lot — knock if it’s locked, we’re here.
