HP laptop & desktop repair in South Bend
HP laptops come through the door every week: Pavilion, Envy, Spectre, EliteBook, ProBook, Omen and Victus, plus HP desktops and all-in-ones. Loud fan, dead keys, a hinge that snapped out of the lid, a screen that went black? Bring it in.
We are an independent local shop. The diagnostic is $60 and it comes off the repair, you get a plain answer about what is wrong, and you approve the price before any work starts. If the honest answer is that it is not worth fixing, you hear that for the same $60.
Or just walk in, Mon - Thu 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM · Friday By appointment. 746 S Arnold St Suite 3, South Bend.

What usually breaks on HPs
- Keyboards: dead keys, keys that repeat, or a spill. On many HP laptops the keyboard is built into the top case, so it is a bigger job than it sounds. We tell you that up front.
- Overheating: a fan that is always loud, or a laptop that shuts off under load. Usually dust and dried thermal paste, sometimes a failing fan. Cleaned, repasted and tested under load.
- Hinges that crack out of the plastic lid or bottom case on consumer models, often with the screen bezel lifting at the corner.
- Cracked screens and touchscreens, ordered for your exact model.
- Batteries that die in an hour, and charge ports that only work at an angle.
- Slow machines still on a spinning hard drive, where an SSD with everything cloned over makes the biggest difference.
Parts: SSDs and memory are usually on the shelf. Screens, keyboards, batteries and charge ports are ordered for your exact model, usually a few days, and you have the price before anything is ordered. We also fix and set up HP printers at flat rates. See what’s on the shelf right now.
The honest numbers
What a HP repair costs here.
The same numbers as our pricing page and the counter. The one thing we do not guess at is the repair itself, because the part depends on your exact model.
Diagnostic
A hands-on look and a plain answer about what is actually wrong with your HP. Your answer within 5 business days, usually sooner. Go ahead with the repair and the $60 comes right off it.
Priority diagnostic
Same look, ahead of every standard job, so a busy week cannot push you back. Pick it when you book or at the counter.
The repair
Screens, keyboards, batteries, charge ports, drives: the part depends on your exact HP model, so we quote it after the look and you approve it before any work starts. 30-day warranty on parts and labor.
If the fix needs a part we keep on the shelf, like an SSD or memory, it can often happen the same day you approve it. A HP screen, keyboard, battery or charge port is ordered for your exact model, usually a few days, and we tell you how long before you decide. While it is on the bench you can borrow a charger, keyboard, mouse or monitor for a small flat fee quoted at the counter. If the honest answer is that it is not worth fixing, you hear that for the same $60, and we help you figure out what comes next, including tested, warrantied refurbished laptops if you need something working this week.

Common questions
HP repair questions
How much does an HP keyboard, hinge or screen repair cost?
It depends on the exact model and the part it takes, so a number here would be a guess. For the flat $60 we confirm what the machine needs and quote it before anything is ordered, with the $60 already credited. A hinge repair on a cheaper laptop can cost a real share of what the laptop is worth, and we say so before you decide. Repairs carry a 30-day warranty on parts and labor.
My HP is loud and hot. Is that worth fixing?
Usually yes, and it is one of the more affordable repairs. Most of the time it is dust packed into the fan and heatsink and thermal paste that has dried out, which we clean and replace, then test under load before it goes back. If the fan itself has failed we order one for your exact model. Left alone, heat shortens the life of the whole machine.
Do you keep HP parts in stock?
SSDs and memory are usually on the shelf. Screens, keyboards, batteries and charge ports are ordered for your exact model, usually a few days, and you have the price before anything is ordered. While your HP is on the bench you can borrow a charger, keyboard, mouse or monitor for a small flat fee quoted at the counter.
Will I lose my files?
Most repairs, like a screen, a port, a battery or a keyboard, never touch your files. If the drive is the problem, or the machine is dead and the files are the real worry, say so at the counter and saving them becomes the first job. If you still can, back up before you bring it in.
What if my HP is still under warranty?
Check with HP first: warranty work goes through them, not us, and we are not connected to HP in any way. Once it is out of warranty, or when you would rather have a local person look at it this week, bring it in. Your answer comes within 5 business days, and most repairs are done one to two days after you approve them.
